December  14 - "Cal Am Chief Says Desal Stalled"
    Cal Am's desal plant at Moss Landing is over 16 months behind
    schedule, has no secured site for the plant and faces litigation.

December 10 -
"City EIR on Desalination Plant Criticized"
    Poseidon has released their Final EIR (FEIR) for their 50 MGD desal
    plant in Carlsbad.  There are many environmental concerns over this
    project and there are several public hearings coming up to discuss the
    FEIR.

December 9 -
"Desal Plant Talks Hit Impasse"
    Tampa Bay desal plant discussions end with no agreement on how
    much desal water will be produced and Tampa Bay Water officials say
    that due to heavy rainfall the water may not even be needed.

November 16 -

    Carlsbad to dedicate their new wastewater recycling plant that opened
    last month. This plant will produce 4 MGD to large customers for

    The San Diego County Water Authority allocated funds for a feasibility
    study on a potential ocean desalination plant at the San Onofre nuclear
    power plant.

    Las Vegas looks to desalination on the coast of California as a solution
    to their water shortages.

- "Council Postpones Vote on Desalination"
    Huntington Beach City Council voted 5-2 to postpone the vote on the
    Conditional Use Permit (CUP) on the Poseidon proposal until November
    21, 2005 due to new information received that day.

    The Public Utilities Commission (PUC) is reviewing Cal Am's rate
    increase proposal that would help cover costs of their proposed desal
    project in Moss Landing.

    Cal Am and Pajaro-Sunny Mesa argue against each others desal
    proposals both to be located at the Duke Energy power plant in Moss
    Landing.

    Huntington Beach City Council is set to vote on Poseidon's EIR for their
    desal project on Tuesday, September 6, 2005.

    almost 12,000 pounds of anchovies.
