Cambria

Cambria Community Services District is proposing a 0.5 MGD desal plant using subsurface beach
wells.  They have submitted their Initial Study/Mitigated Negative Declaration (IS/MND) and it was passed
in front of the San Luis Obispo Planning Commission on June 22nd.  Local environmentalists have
signed onto an appeal.

Marina

Marina Coast Water District is proposing a 2.7 MGD desal plant with subsurface beach wells.  They
have released their Draft EIR (DEIR).

Monterey

Ocean View Plaza is a private development that is proposing to build a 0.05 MGD ocean water desal
plant.  The city of Monterey certified the EIR in December 2004 at the eleventh hour, in anticipation of new
laws regarding enacting special districts.
San Rafael

Marin Municipal Water District is proposing a 10-15 MGD ocean water desal plant and are currently
working on their EIR and they had a pilot plant in operation.

Sand City

There are two desal proposals in Sand City, one by the City of Sand City and the other by Monterey
Peninsula Water Management District
.

    City of Sand City is proposing a 0.27 MGD ocean desal plant that uses subsurface beach wells
    and their EIR was released 2004.

    Monterey Peninsula Water Management District is proposing a 3-7.5 MGD ocean desal plant
    that uses subsurface beach wells.
