Our Background
Desal Response Group began when 5 utility companies in Southern
California convened a group of diverse environmental organizations to
gather their support on ocean water desalination projects. We ended
with more questions than they had answers, and have since continued
to meet and share issues from across the state to form regional
responses to ocean desalination proposals.
Desal Response Group continues to meet with its allied regional and
local organizations concerned about the rush to place desalination
plants in their communities. We continue to communicate with groups
across California to promote and respect sustainable alternative
options for water demand - such as watershed management, water
conservation, reclamation and reuse, and low impact development.
